A History Of Pandora Beads

The History of Pandora beads began back in Denmark three decades ago. The beads are based on stories from Greek mythology, each one is unique and hand-crafted, and once put together on a bracelet or necklace, they tell a different story.

According to the Greek myth, Zeus wanted revenge on the god Prometheus, after he stole fire from the gods and gave it to humanity. Zeus ordered Hephaestus to create Pandora – the first woman – and made the other gods spoil her in order to entice humans.

Athena, the goddess of wisdom, gave Pandora clothes, the goddess of love, Aphrodite, gave her beauty and Charites, goddess of charm gave her necklaces created by Hephaestus.

Meanwhile Zeus gave Pandora a box, which she was not to open. Pandora was then sent to Earth. When she was created she was given curiosity, so Pandora could not avoid the temptation. She opened the box and released evil into the world afterward all that was left in the box was hope.

The creators of Pandora beads use this hope as the basis behind their jewellery. The beads allow the wearer to create their own jewelery and tell their own story using the different beads which are available. Each bracelet is a door into the wearer’s history and imagination.
